OUR JOURNEY SO FAR
There have been a number of occasions throughout our twenty-four year history where we believe the Holy Spirit has told us to secure land or construct buildings. These directions have come so we could keep fulfilling Jesus’ commission to us as a church from Luke 9:11 to “welcome the crowds, speak to them about the kingdom of heaven and heal those who need healing.”
The first call came in 1993, just a year after Bridgeman commenced, when God provided through a handful of people the resources to buy a one-hectare property in Bridgeman Downs (Jer 32:25). Eight years later (2001), with more divine intervention and the sacrificial obedience of so many in the two hundred-member congregation, a 500 seat auditorium was constructed (Zec 4:6).
With our church community doubling twice in the next three years and the number of children and young people rapidly growing, a powerful word to “make more room” (Is 54:2) led to four more services commencing and the purchase of an adjoining property in 2004. After another call to sacrificial commitment, the Youth and Children’s Ministry Centre was constructed in 2007.
In 2009, the Holy Spirit again made known through prayer and His word that we were to keep “reaching more” (2 Cor 4:15). After our Father opened the way to secure two more adjoining properties (2010, 2011), a plan was divinely revealed to create additional room. Through constructing more youth and children’s facilities on this increased land (Studio and The House), the space now called The Chapel, could be used for additional seating on a Sunday morning via a video link. Another season of courageous faith and sacrificial commitment made this third major development a reality in 2013.
The Holy Spirit’s instruction from Luke 9:11 continues to burn deeply in our hearts and we believe, following another special season of prayer, Jesus has told us that it is again “A Time to Build” so there is room to welcome the many more He is planning to bring into His Kingdom of love and light.
